Tacx Inspector
Introduction
This purpose of this program is to display the information stored in Tacx run files for the Fortius and i-Magic trainers.
NB: This is barely an 'alpha' version of the software, it is some way from a finished program.
As well as giving details of the file contents, such as time, distance and rider details, it can also display performance data.
As well as graphs of power, heart rate and cadence distributions.
Some power related information can also be calculated and displayed.
However, possible it's most useful feature is the graphing of the distance or time between 2-6 riders.
Features
- Reads .im, .imf, and .caf format files (i-Magic VR runs, Fortius VR runs and Fortius Catalyst runs).
- Can index the rides in the Tacx run file directories on startup to provide easy access to rides.
- Data can be displayed in metric or imperial units.
- Can graphically display the separation of two or more riders on the same course by time or distance.
- Displays distribution graphs of power, speed and cadence.
- Displays power level information for rides based on Andrew Coggan's work.
- Displays a simple performance graph of the ride.
- Displays information not shown by the Tacx analyser for certain runs: trainer brake type, calibration (Fortius runs), and power to weight ratio.
- Shows raw ride data.
- The ride data can be copied into other applications (right click on the table to select all and then right click again to copy to clipboard).
- The ride data can be sorted by column - click on the column headings.
Download Latest Version
Download a zip archive (216 kB) of the current alpha (0.1) for Windows XP/2000 32 bit, released on 03 January 2007.
This is the first release.
Previous Versions
No previous versions have been released.
Installation
The program requires the Microsoft .NET 2.0 library. You can download it from here. (The .NET library is approximately 22MB.)
The program is published as a zip archive. Extract the contents to a separate folder and run the TacxInspector.exe program. Note the program requires the supplied DLLs to function - these must be in the same folder as the program.
Use
The program has two ways of operating. It can either work in a similar way to the Tacx Analyser program, where it indexes all the run files in your directories, or alternatively it can open run files on request via the 'Open File' option on the toolbar or File Menu.
Note that indexing run files on startup can slow the program start significantly. When the program is first run, an option to turn off the indexing on startup will be given. This option is also also available from the options dialog.
Known Issues
- The height profile for i-Magic (green software) VR runs sometimes has no border.
- Indexing files will probably not work for users of the Fortius trainer.
